Get ready for a trip down the Rabbid hole with Rabbids: Party of Legends, coming June 30 to Switch, Stadia, Xbox One, and PS4 (including Xbox Series X|S and PS5 via backwards compatibility). When the Rabbids take a ride in their washing machine, they are mysteriously transported to a mythological world of mayhem inspired by the classic Chinese novel "Journey to the West." In this multiplayer party game, the Rabbids must play their way through the chaos and find their way home.

Rabbids: Party of Legends has 50 minigames that challenge players to strike silly poses, topple opponents, scarf chili peppers, show off their dance moves, and more. Up to four players can join locally, either 2v2 or as a free-for-all. Players can also create custom playlists of their favorite minigames, and the AI's difficulty levels are also customizable, making the game approachable for any age and fun for the whole family.

The Monkey King and his cohorts Pigsy, Sandy, and Tripitaka must retrace their steps in order to send themselves and the other Rabbids home again. The story is spread across four acts, each occupying a different region on the game board and leading players on a journey through the mythical realm.

The development team at Ubisoft Chengdu took inspiration from traditional Chinese imagery for Rabbids: Party of Legends, and worked to merge Eastern and Western sensibilities, blending an integral part of Chinese culture with the lighthearted, odd, and at times irreverent nature of the Rabbids.

Original story [Thu 12th May, 2022 01:30 BST]: It's that time of the month when every company is releasing its earnings report, and with this, come a slew of game announcements.

On the Ubisoft front, it's been revealed the French publisher and developer will be bringing its China-exclusive Rabbids release to the Nintendo Switch here in the west at some point between now and June. It's officially listed as Rabbids: Party of Legends in the earnings report, but could potentially be localised as Rabbids: Adventure Party.

This game, which is said to be inspired by Journey to the West (a classic piece of Chinese literature), was originally released on the Nintendo Switch in China in 2019 and is a party game where you play a variety of minigames using the Joy-Con controllers.

Ubisoft is also currently working with Nintendo to bring Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope later this year. It's the follow up to the original 2017 release, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle.

I'm somewhat interested in this game. If you think about it, this game only made the release of Mario + Rabbids in China all the more special. They released NSMBUDX and this game in China, then they finally close in on that crossover

I'm sure there is some morbid gratification to be gained by slaughtering the little turds en masse, but their screams will result in the player's death by a thousand cuts, or to be less proverbial about it, "bwaaaaaaaaaaaahs!".

The trailer doesn't give me a very good idea what the game will be like. For me (who rarely has anyone else to play party games with), Rabbids games have been very hit and miss based on whether or not they have something to tie the minigames together. I loved the original and it worked pretty well as a single player game. The second one was decent, but only if you had other players, it was pointless by yourself. Rabbids Travel in Time wasn't great, even if you had other players. I know it got trashed by critics, but I actually liked Rabbids Land on Wii U.

I get the feeling it was initially a China-only release because of how the west is so preoccupied with finding something to be offended by.

Cool I guess but only Rabbids I'm interested in are Sparks of Hope..even though I'm nowhere near finishing Kingdom Battle yet.

@Moistnado It's made by a Chinese developer though (Ubisoft Chengdu) If it was made by white people yeah, no doubt the Twitter mobs would be out with their torches.

@TheBladeOfRoses that was my immediate thought too. What a game that was! In hindsight, I think it was constantly trying to better how far each of us could throw a cow, that kept me and the girl I was with together for far longer than we should have been

Mario + Rabbids was a great game, despite the Rabbids, not because of them. I prefer my games Rabbid-less

I tried this China game as a demo long time ago and it felt low budget like a Wii game.

I've never really been into Rabbids, like I get the Rayman connection and of course Mario + Rabbids, but they've never really been my thing. Having said that, based off of the trailer that was posted, it seems like a decent enough party game and I'm at that point in life, where I'm playing more games with my kids.

if this is just a minigame collection like the old rabbids games, I'll pass. Would have been interested in an actual game that included Chinese mythology

@Mando44646 Same. I would have been interested if we were to get something that adapts Journey to the West beyond just decorations. Like an adventure, action or strategy game.

Sort of a nostalgia for the flawed but fun party games on the Wii that featured the crazy critters. I'm in

I'm much more interested in Sparks of Hope, but if this turns out fun, I'll get it eventually!

To all those expecting Rayman in the game, GET OVER IT! He ain't showing up! Besides, Rayman really doesn't fit into the Real World like these guys do. He and Globox fit in better in a fantasy setting with fairies like Betilla, who's got too much boobs for her top to take!

I remember really enjoying the original Rayman Raving Rabbids game on the Wii. I also enjoyed TV Party a couple years later when that came out. If this ends up turning out decent, I wouldn’t mind grabbing it for cheap as a nostalgia-filled mini-game collection.

@Juzztn At least I can bear the Minions, Rabbids I can't, save for Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle. Thankfully they're not really as annoying in that game as usual, or maybe I haven't played long enough to say for sure (stopped playing at the start of World 4).
